Happy Holidays, Houston!
ServiceMaster Advantage wants to help you make it the most wonderful time of the year this December. In light of the stormy weather we’re expected to have (and upcoming rains in our 10-day weather forecast), we thought that it would be timely to give you some of our favorite holiday water damage prevention tips:
FROZEN OR LEAKING PIPES. In the rare occasion that the temperature gets below freezing during the night, be sure to leave all faucets dripping to prevent bursting pipes. Also, if it’s rainy or stormy, double check all pipes, walls and ceilings for cracks.
MONITOR YOUR ATTIC. Insulate and seal the attic from your house. This is because if there is a big difference in temperature from your attic and outside, this likely causes condensation, leaks and eventually water damage.
CLEAN THE GUTTERS. Place screens and clean your gutters to keep water from leaking or causing damage to your property.
VACATION TIME. If you leave for an extended period of time, ensure that your home stays warm. Also, have someone monitor your home during stormy weather conditions when you’re gone.
Because your safety and peace of mind is our top priority, you can count on ServiceMaster Advantage to be open 24/7 for all of your water damage emergencies. Have a wonderful holiday that is full of cheer!
